This is an imaginary commentary from my dog when I leave for work.....
At last, he has gone and left me in peace. So what should I do now? Let's have a drink of water while I think of something else.
That was good. I'll have a sniff around to make sure all is safe and secure. You never know, I might even find something to eat on the way....
Oh well, no food.
That was tiring, so I will have a lie down for a while. Let's see if I can tear my bedding cushion to pieces a bit more. That is fun. He gets really upset when he gets home and finds bits of filling all over the floor - serves him right for leaving me alone.
*Some time later*
That was a nice nap. Now I am thirsty again. More water.
Time for another sniff around, just in case....
Still no food.
I could tear the bedding to pieces a bit more, then have another sleep.
Wonder if he will soon be home.
*Some time later again*
Was that a noise? It was a car. Even better, it is his car. He is home at last!!
I will wait by the back door, ready to greet him. He might feed me if I am lucky. I am so hungry.
He is here!!
(Sadly, my dog now appears to be almost completely deaf, so she is no longer able to hear my car as it drives through the village on the way to the drive. However, I know she used to be able to recognise the sound of my car before that happened. Dogs are the most amazing creatures - and great company).

This is my first Blog. It will probably go nowhere and interest nobody - not even me. However, nothing ventured .......

A Dog's Life
Thoughts - what does my dog do while I am at work?
Every day, I go off to work early in the morning and my dog is left alone all day. It seems she doesn't bark or otherwise annoy the neighbours and she doesn't do any damage that I can see when I get home. So what does she do? What does she think about?
I know that dogs do not really think about much - apart from 'when is he going to get home and give me my tea?' - but let us assume that they do. What might she think while she is alone all day?
This is an entirely imaginary - and completely ridiculous - account of the thought process of my dog.
